Epoxy vs. Polyurea: Which Coating Is Right for Your Floor?

When researching floor coatings, you'll hear two names over and over: epoxy and polyurea. Both are excellent products, but they have different strengths. Here's an honest breakdown to help you decide.

What Is Epoxy?

Epoxy is a two-part resin system (resin + hardener) that chemically bonds to concrete. It's been the industry standard for decades because it's incredibly durable, chemical-resistant, and available in virtually unlimited colors and finishes. Learn more about our residential epoxy coatings.

What Is Polyurea?

Polyurea is a newer coating technology that cures much faster than epoxy — sometimes in as little as one hour. It's more flexible, which means it handles temperature changes and minor concrete movement better. Polyurea is also UV-stable, so it won't yellow in sunlight.
